10 Simple Important osCommerce Administrations |

It has been a very common case where a website is developed and released only to experience problems within the next few days, hours even. This causes a lot of frustrations for both developers and customers. The sad thing is that most of the times the problems are simply administrative tasks that has been neglected. It would be great if all of us can avoid those errors, so here it is.
For starter we'll give out these tips for osCommerce administrative tasks, so that we don't end up looking frustrated like "luna" on the right. - Change your store name and administrator e-mail. Seems to be something that we can put off for later, but if we forget this the store owner will not receive any of the order e-mails. Expect a few phone calls...
- Turn on SSL, this can be done through the configuration files. Forgetting this would be quite critical
- Register an SSL certificate. Well, not really osCommerce thing, but this is important to remember
- Change the welcome e-mails to tailor the customer's needs
- Set up your zones
- Change your tax rate
- Adjust your currency
- Setup the correct shipping methods according to the customer's needs
- Setup the correct payment methods according to the customer's needs
- Change default osCommerce logo with customer's logo for shipping slips, receipts and many more
That's about 10 of the simple things that we might forget. Remembering to do everything on the above list will save the frustrations, anger and embarassment. There are of course much more things that has to be setup correctly when implementing an e-commerce system such as osCommerce, we'll visit them some other times!
